Development tools

October 14, 10:45-12:00

Model driven development and graphical tools are the “hot” areas in this field. We will hear about implementation experience and rapid prototyping.

Presentations will be made by:

Tobias Amnell Combitech

"Model driven developement of a software product line at Atlas Copco".

Combitech AB is helpingAtlas Copco to develop a new software product line for embedded systems with model-based methods. The project is on-going and has now reach a point where several products are developed in parallell.  In the presentation we will share some of the lessons we have learned while introducing Rhapsody and model driven development in developing a product line of embedded real-time applications.

Tobias is a consultant at Combitech AB with primary interests in model driven development and software architecture for embedded systems. He has worked with real-time and embedded systems since 1998, in both small and big product development companies as well as in large defence projects. He has licentiate of technology from Uppsala University where he worked on code generation from verified models of real-time systems.

René Voorhorst National Instruments

”From Rapid Prototyping to Embedded Deployment with Graphical Development Tools”

National Instruments LabVIEW provides a complete development solution for the graphical system design of embedded applications so you can efficiently design, prototype, and deploy your system in a single software platform. This platform is capable of executing on a variety of processing targets including off-the-shelf real-time and FPGA-based systems as well as custom microprocessor and microcontroller devices. Gain an overview of the various deployment options for LabVIEW applications, including LabVIEW embedded modules for NI Single-Board RIO, ARM microcontrollers and the ADI Blackfin processors.

Biography:
René Voorhorst holds an engineering degree from the Hogeschool van Utrecht in Electronic Design. After working a few years for 3-Tel and Royal Boskalis Westminster NV René started his career at National Instruments as Applications Engineer in the Netherlands early 2000 and shortly after that moved into Sales and Sales Management. In July 2005 René moved to Sweden as Managing Director for National Instruments Sverige AB, a sales operation with technical support, product training, business development, marketing, and administration functions
