"An overview of the Android security model"

The Android mobile technology platform is rapidly becoming one of the major smartphone platforms. This session provides a short introduction to the architecture and will go on to discuss Android security from a number of different aspects. We will look at methods to protect user data from malicious applications and look at how permissions are used to protect important system services. The different levels of certificates used in the platform are also covered.  The following part concerns operators and manufactures and how they may protect their contributions to the platform. The session wraps up with a discussion of what mechanisms are available for application developers to protect their applications and protect their data.

Mattias Björnheden is Field Applications Engineer at Enea with several years experience of mobile platforms and he has been a core member of our Android team since the start.
